Ameristar Casinos to break ground on Louisiana project next week
Ameristar Casinos is putting on a display Wednesday for the folks in Louisiana to show the company’s seriousness toward its $500 million hotel-casino project in Lake Charles.
On Wednesday, bulldozers will begin clearing the site for Ameristar Lake Charles, the company’s hotel-casino project that it acquired from Creative Casinos.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board approved Ameristar’s plans to take over the project in June and Ameristar is required to begin construction by July 20.
The Las Vegas-based regional casino operator plans to have its top management team in Lake Charles for the groundbreaking event, including Chief Executive Officer Gordon Kanofsky.
Kanofsky plans unveil more details about the destination resort and rally the construction crew.
The property is scheduled to open 2014.
