Summerlin

On April 26, Tour de Summerlin, one of the master-planned community’s hallmark active lifestyle events that is open to the public, celebrated its 13th year with the annual 40-, 75- and 100-mile non-timed cycling event. More than 600 cyclists participated, including 53 members of the Riders for Candlelighters Kids team, below, right. They, along with sponsors, raised more than $75,000 for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada. The community’s jackrabbit mascot, Summerlin Sam, below, left, joined the send-off as the cyclists enjoyed the scenic route through Summerlin’s landscaped streets, at left, and trails and nearby, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
