Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon satiates off-road enthusiasts
A new special-edition 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon hit the market to satisfy off-road enthusiasts until the next generation Wrangler releases in 2018. With numerous interior, exterior and hardware upgrades, this edition, which was showcased at the Chicago Auto Show, pumps up the assets of the traditional Wrangler Rubicon with nearly every upgrade possible.
Chapman Chrysler Jeep, located in the Valley Automall, is awaiting its arrival this month.
The body is shortened and combines with a half-inch lift to protect rock rails and accommodate up to 35-inch tires. A distinct difference from the other Rubicon selections, the 17-inch alloy wheels are painted in Granite Crystal and wrapped in extreme grip 32-inch BF Goodrich KM off-road rubber.
Ensuring durability, Jeep added a hefty Dana 44 front axle with strengthened tubes and heavy-duty end forgings. An enhanced front and rear cast cover shield the gear set from any off-road surprises.
“This Jeep is the ultimate off-road machine, meant for the extreme off-road enthusiasts tackling the most challenging and demanding trails out there,” said Chapman Chrysler Jeep General Manager Gary Brewer. “The upgrades provide excellent durability, with a unique and classic appearance, which will make our customers very happy.”
Alongside technical advancements, the leather and vinyl interior includes a mix of functionality and style with its ability to repel water and stay resilient, no matter the condition. Black and red accents are featured throughout the SUV.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon premiered at the Chicago Auto Show in early February and will arrive at the Chapman Chrysler Jeep showroom this month. A premium off-road Jeep Wrangler, the Rubicon Recon starts at $39,145.
