Findlay Kia reaches record sales levels
July 22, 2016 - 6:50 am
Findlay Kia has recorded increased sales figures of about 17 percent in the first half of the year. The newly arrived 2017 Kia Sportage sport utility vehicle is leading the way to even stronger results during the remainder of the year.
Evidence of the Sportage’s respect is the fact that J.D. Power recently announced the small SUV ranked highest in its class. More importantly, Kia earned the highest-ranking among 33 nameplates in the 2016 Initial Quality Study to become the first nonpremium to make to take the top spot in 27 years.
The redesign of the 2017 Kia Sportage is highlighted by its versatility, spacious interior and exterior styling. In addition, the vehicle’s strong interior amenities include available heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, reclining rear seats, stain-resistant cloth seats, leather seats, panoramic sunroof and sound-insulating acoustic glass.
Other features include a smart-power liftgate, dual-level cargo floor, large center console and roof rails.
Advanced technology is highlighted by UVO, short for the hands-free “Your Voice” infotainment system, and power-folding mirrors.
The safety elements of the ’17 Kia include electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist system, anti-lock braking system and torque vectoring corner control on Kia’s with all-wheel drive.
Engines include the inline 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and the 2.0-liter GDI SX turbocharged inline four-cylinder generating 240 horsepower. Each performance package includes a six-speed electronically controlled Sportmatic overdrive transmission.
Fuel mileage ratings range from 23 city to 30 highway.
The plaudits by J.D. Power come on the heels of Consumer Reports ranking Kia among the top six brands in reliability.
Kia executives said other models leading the way for the automotive manufacturer are the Soul, Rio, Forte and Sorento.
Findlay Kia is part of Findlay Automotive Group that was founded more than 50 years ago by the late Pete Findlay, whose son, Cliff, now spearheads automobile dealerships in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Idaho. The dealership is headed by General Manager Byron Klemaske.
