Chapman Dodge celebrates employee’s achievement of American dream
Robert Hernandez was 20 years old when he went into the Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram showroom looking to purchase a car. At the time, Hernandez needed help with his credit having only just arrived in the United States from Cuba.
The sales team at Chapman was so impressed with Hernandez’s outgoing personality, they not only worked with him to get him a good deal on a car but they also offered him a job on the spot. Hernandez immediately accepted. That was four years ago.
Since then, Hernandez learned English, traded in his car for a newer one and became one of the dealership’s top salesmen. Last year, he married his childhood sweetheart, brought her to Las Vegas from Havana and purchased his first home.
Most recently, with the support of his family, friends and Chapman family, Hernandez’s American dream came true as he was officially sworn in as a U.S. citizen in an official ceremony alongside dozens of new citizens in Las Vegas.
“We saw so much potential in Robert as a human being, we knew he would be a perfect fit for the Chapman family,” said Don Hamrick, general manager of Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. “He is the epitome of a gentleman, our customers love him, and he will be a model U.S. citizen.”
