Cooler weather brings cool cars to Southern Nevada
Whether you just love going to see classic cars or you have been thinking about buying one, a car show is the best way to really get to know the classics and what it takes to restore or maintain one for the long run. Many shows in the Las Vegas area are family friendly and offer fun for all ages, so grab the kids and make plans to check out one of these great car shows this fall.

Henderson Sept. 22-23
You’ll find the best in classic, muscle cars, trucks, motorcycles and other show cars on display during the Water Street Car Show at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 W. Water St. This show is free for fans and is geared toward all ages with live entertainment, souvenir vendors, food shacks and even celebrity appearances.
Adults 21 and up can enjoy adult beverages throughout the event, and bands will be playing all day long. There will even be kid’s play areas set up to keep the tykes happy. Show hours are 6-10 p.m. Friday and noon-7 p.m. Saturday. For more information, visit waterstreetcarshow.com.
Laughlin Sept. 29-Oct.1
This is a fan favorite every year and a car show you won’t want to miss — the Viva Tropicana Celebration and Car Show in the North Lot at Tropicana Laughlin, 2121 S. Casino Drive. The weekend show features the slickest low riders, hot rods, custom cars and other rides in the area, as well as the best in Latin music and food.
Guests can purchase a room and show package for under $200, and vendors can set up shop for only $50. If you own a show quality car, registration is only $25 and can be paid on Friday, Sept. 29.
This year the event will include Lucha Libre Voz and some of the hottest international lucha superstars from Mexico and the U.S. who will be entertaining the crowds. For more information, visit troplaughlin.com.
Pahrump Oct. 7
The Pahrump Car Show is hosted by Top Notch Repairs and will be held at 3681 W. Bell Vista Road. This show is fun for all ages and free for fans to attend.
Have a car of your own? Registration is only $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the show. You will find many great classic and vintage cars, as well as live music, a raffle, food and souvenir vendors.

Las Vegas Oct. 14
Fans come from all around the country to attend the National American Muscle Meet, which will be held at the Antique Mall of America, 9151 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The show features cars from all years, makes and models, and it’s free for fans to attend.
Car owners can preregister a car for $20 until Oct. 13. Day-of-event registration will be $25, and you can get VIP parking along with registration for only $50.
The show will also feature a raffle drawing, a live DJ and other live entertainment, food vendors, a kid’s activity area and awards to the best in a variety of categories for cars.
