Former Wall Street gaming analyst Jason Ader has been rumored to be shopping for piece of Strip real estate. On Wednesday he became a director for one of Las Vegas’s major casino operators.
Las Vegas Sands Corp. appointed Ader to an open seat on the company’s board of directors.
"Jason is a gaming industry expert,” Las Vegas Sands Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Sheldon Adelson said in a statement.
Once the go-to guy among gaming researchers in the late 1990s and early 2000s when he was the senior managing director at Bear Stearns, Ader began a hedge fund in 2003. He has reportedly spent time in Las Vegas recently, exploring potential casino buying opportunities.
Ader is the founder and CEO of Hayground Cove Asset Management, an investment management firm, and Hayground Cove Capital Partners, a merchant bank.
While at Bear Stearns, Ader received several distinctions for his work covering the gaming and hospitality industries, including being ranked on Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Team for nine consecutive years. He was the No. 1 ranked gaming and lodging/hospitality analyst in the Institutional Investor poll for three consecutive years.
