Isbel powers Rebels to baseball rout of first-place New Mexico

Kyle Isbel went 4-for-5 with a triple, five RBIs and three runs to lead UNLV to a 10-4 victory over New Mexico in a Mountain West baseball game Sunday at Wilson Stadium.
Andrew Yazdanbakhsh also went 4-for-5 for the Rebels (22-25, 12-12), who won two of three from the first-place Lobos (32-18, 17-7) over the weekend and have won four of their past five overall.
UNLV starter Dean Kremer (3-4) worked around nine hits and one walk to hold New Mexico to three runs in six innings. Ben Wright gave up one run over the final three innings to post his 10th save.
Austin Anderson, Cody Howard, Cooper Esmay and Payton Squier had two hits apiece for the Rebels, who held a 17-11 edge in hits. Anderson drove in two runs, and Howard and Esmay each scored twice.
Luis Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double and scored twice for the Lobos, who were charged with four errors.
Chris DeVito homered, Jack Zoellner had two doubles, and Jared Mang went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for New Mexico.
