Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 – 7 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up
1 Ranchero – Sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low class; won last time and still taking the plunge.
4 American Wildcat – Claimed by Matt Chew and spotted nicely to repeat; has back class to repeat the effort.
Long Shot – 2 Jim’s Decision
Race 2 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Propero – Mike Mitchell drop down has to be respected; he is never afraid to drop and win.
2 Tiz a Brite Miss – Logical chalk has shown a lot of early speed in her career; may pop the gate and not look back.
Race 3 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $54,000, Optional claiming $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Toto Cor – Was flattered when Potesta won next out; Marty Jones rarely wins first time, this filly must have talent.
4 Magical Band – Has run two very good races in a row; has good tactical speed to be involved early on.
Long Shot – 5 Trapper’s Bounty
Race 4 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Zees Chris – Long in the tooth; returns from a 9-month hiatus in a no claim comeback, plus Rafael Bejarano up too.
6 Teslar – FTS from Mike Pupye in a truly awful field; when the ones with experience are this slow, the FTS get another look.
Long Shot – 8 Miss California
Race 5 – 1 1/8th miles (turf), Purse $33,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
3 Fire Break – Ran like a short horse in last off a 7-month hiatus; should be a lot tighter for this second effort.
4 Arcodoro – He appears to have found a comfort level at this $25K class; second race off the claim by Jack Carava.
Long Shot – 5 Isle of Prado
Race 6 – 5 furlongs, Purse $52,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
3 Ella Bea Awesome – Doug O’Neill barn remains red hot despite few starters this meet; expect improvement second time out.
10 Yodelin Moon – A leap of faith in the connections of Rafael Bejarano and Mike Harrington; watch the tote board for clues.
Long Shot – 5 Gambler’s Beauty
Race 7 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $54,000, Optional claiming $80,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
2 Starry Skies – Lost to a grade 1 winner Willa B Awesome in the Melair; class relief in the much easier spot.
4 Lady Ten – Bob Baffert is winning at an astounding 42 percent this meet; sharp graduate facing winners for the first time.
Long Shot – 6 Emerald Gold
Race 8 – 1 1/8th miles, $150,000 Californian, 3-year-olds and up
3 Morning Line – Was very impressed by his Mervyn LeRoy win; acted up pre-race, was much the best during the race.
1 Game On Dude – Question is can he shake off the effects of a miserable trip to Dubai; gritty performer off a 2-month breather.
Long Shot – 4 Prayer for Relief
Race 9 – 6 furlongs (turf), Purse $52,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Angel’s Moon – Speed and the rail from this filly; don’t expect Alonso Quinonez to play coy, just go on with it.
5 Attigirl Meadow – Typical green debut, slow early, fast late; expect improvement in start number two.
Long Shot – 4 Not Kidding Around
Best Bet – 2 Starry Skies (race 7)
