One man dies in two-vehicle accident Thursday night

One man died Thursday night after he ran a red light and collided with a pickup at Oakey Boulevard and Arville Street.

According to Las Vegas police, about 9:30 p.m., a 1997 Buick, traveling north on Arville Street, ran a red light and collided with a 2002 Dodge Dakota in the intersection.

The driver of the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene. He will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The driver of the Dodge had non life-threatening injuries and was transported to University Medical Center.

The collision was the 63 traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Police Department’s jurisdiction this year. It remains under investigation.
