Teen running to bus hit by car

A teenager was hit by a car Monday morning near Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street as he ran across the street to board his school bus.

The Clark County School District bus was approaching a stop when the teen exited a vehicle and ran across the street without using a crosswalk and was struck by another car, said Las Vegas police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

The teenager was taken to Sunrise Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the car was cited and the pedestrian may also be cited, Meltzer said.

School district police were not involved in the incident and had no comment.
