Pedestrian struck, killed near north end of Strip

Updated February 11, 2021 - 5:12 pm

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Thursday morning near the north end of the Strip, Las Vegas police said.

Investigators believe a 2013 Nissan Altima was driving west on Sahara Avenue through the intersection with Las Vegas Boulevard South at 11:09 a.m. when a man in his 30s ran into the road in an attempt to cross the street.

The man hit the passenger side of the Altima and was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, police said.

The driver of the Altima, a 28-year-old woman, showed no signs of impairment, Metro said.

Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South were closed in the area of the crash while police investigated.
