Mustang, F-150 generate most Internet attention at Friendly Ford

Figures recorded by the Internet department of Friendly Ford reveal an interesting trend. For the past several years, the Ford Mustang and F-150 truck have generated the most “hits” in a never-ending portion of the car business that requires observation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For good reason, the two models cover important portions of the industry. The Mustang’s sporty and stylish design has been a part of the business for more than 50 years, while the F Series truck has been No. 1 vehicle in its class for 39 years.

The Mustang’s lineup includes the V-6 Fastback, EcoBoost Fastback, EcoBoost Premium Fastback, GT Fastback and the GT Premium Fastback. Ford has once again emerged with models so solid that longtime customers are also being joined by Friendly Ford employees who know firsthand about the fun and the value of the model.

The Ford Mustang has a strong variation of power plants with the 2.3-liter, four-cylinder twin scroll turbo, the 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V-6 and the 5.0-liter Ti-Vct V-8.

Fuel estimates range from 22-32 mpg for the 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine to 15-25 mpg for the 5.0-liter, eight-cylinder power plant.

Meanwhile, as the F-150’s dominance of nearly four decades also signals the significance of the market tied to variance elements including construction, recreation and even motorsports.

Engines that include the 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost and a 2.7-liter turbo V-6 EcoBoost for base models and 5-liter V-8 and 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6.

Ford-Built-Tough technology features a fully boxed frame with eight cross members made up of 78 percent high-strength steel, which is up from 23 percent in the previous generation.

Meanwhile, in the Friendly Ford Internet department, inquiries about the F-150 and Mustang account for about 50 percent of the department’s business, according to business development coordinator Ryan Gura.

“Everyone wants a Mustang, and it’s the same with the F-150,” Gura said. “The F-150s are now complemented by strong incentive packages, while the Mustangs are popular for everything from design to performance.”

Gura, a native Las Vegan, said inquiries for other models include the Ford Explorer and the Ford Fusion.

“Through the Internet department, the customers get special pricing,” Gura continued. “Buyers can purchase at dealer cost. In addition, customers get other incentives such as an additional discount of up to $550 below the invoice.”
