One Las Vegas high-rise has lifestyle director

One Las Vegas may have found a “captain” in Evelyn Connors, the energetic lifestyle director who oversees social programming, activities and events for residents of the twin-tower high-rise community on the south end of Las Vegas Blvd.
Easily compared to Julie McCoy, the beloved cruise director on the popular 1970s and ’80s TV series, “The Love Boat,” Connors wears many hats, and she wears them well, according to Shahn Douglas, director of marketing for DK Las Vegas LLC, a partnership of KRE Capital LLC and Dune Real Estate Partners, which purchased in 2013 One Las Vegas and other Las Vegas properties.
“Most condominium communities do not understand the value of a lifestyle director, and as a result, we are among a very exclusive group of high-rises to offer our residents all the benefits that come with a full-time social director,” she said. “But we know that buying a home at One Las Vegas is about more than just finding the perfect floor plan with amazing panoramic views of the city and the mountains. For many, this is a lifestyle change that comes with an adjustment to high-rise living, so having a dedicated staff member to plan neighbor mixers, organize outings, fitness camps and special events is a huge benefit to everyone who lives here. Plus, Evelyn is the ideal candidate for this job. She’s outgoing and vivacious and makes every day fun and full.”
In her position as lifestyle director, Connors collaborates with One Las Vegas’ sales and marketing team to ensure timely communication to residents about upcoming events. She contributes to new homeowner orientations and more importantly, serves as a go-to source for new residents who want to learn more about program and community offerings.
“I’m extremely fortunate to be able to genuinely say that I love my job,” Connors said. “It has been so much fun getting to know all the residents who live here. They range in age, profession and background, but that’s what makes my job so interesting and varied. It’s both fun and challenging to conjure up a steady stream of activities and events that cater to the interests of our residents and help cultivate a sense of culture and community at One Las Vegas.”
Connors creates a monthly events calendar for residents that features activities such as poolside luaus, Wine Lover Wednesdays, Hats & Honey Mingle, group training at the gym and trivia game nights. There is even a Bark Happy Hour for residents’ four-legged companions.
“Getting to know your neighbors in a relaxed and meaningful way makes all the difference, Connors said. “These events not only encourage residents to make friends with their neighbors, they create a full and more interesting life. The last game night we hosted was so well attended, we had to order more pizza, which is always a great problem to have.”
Of the twin 20-story towers, DK Las Vegas purchased 295 of the project’s 359 residences. Homes range from 831 to 2,857 square feet with many floor plans offering views of the mountains and the Strip. One-bedroom homes are priced from the low $200,000s; two-bedroom homes from the high $200,000s; and three-bedroom homes from the low $400,000s. The penthouse, offering 3,000 square feet of sweeping views, is priced at $1.1 million.
One Las Vegas is close to Interstate 15, the 215 Beltway and just minutes from McCarran International Airport. Town Square, just a few blocks north of the property, provides one-stop shopping and scores of dining and entertainment options.
